I just turned thirty.
Something happened as the sun sank beneath the horizon on that biting February evening–I realized I had something to say. I have always known that about myself; often it seemed that my mind was bursting with thoughts, and I had nowhere to put them. So I will put them here.
It has taken me nearly a year to work up the courage to start a blog. Doubts poured through my mind like an overflowing river.
What if nobody reads it?
Why should anyone listen to me?
What do I really have to say?
The truth is, some of us are born to write. Not with an innate skill that we need to share, but rather with the natural desire to write something, anything. There are times I find myself so full of thoughts that I cannot relax until they are placed neatly on the page.
And so here I am, joining the clattering noise of the 21st Century, starting my own blog. A blog about life, love, family, spirituality, & the world in which we are all a part.
My hope for this blog is that it becomes a springboard for discourse, because, as Hubert Humphrey once said, “Freedom is hammered out on the anvil of discussion, dissent, and debate.”
